Deacon Dan Long Jr., 103, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008. He was a native of Owassa and was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, three brothers, one daughter and one grandson.
He is survived by his granddaughter, Eleanor Deloris (Donald) Clark of Pensacola; granddaughter-in-law, Catherine Brown of Pensacola; three great-granddaughters, Angelita Clark of Tampa, Fla., and Lakeshia Brown-Walker and Donna Clark, both of Pensacola; two great-grandsons, Reginald (Sharonica) Brown and Kevin Brown, both of Pensacola; an adopted goddaughter, Mattie (Dennis) Roberson of Brewton; two sisters-in-law, Ceola Hall of Fremont, Calif., and Geraldine Long of St. Augustine, Fla.; one brother-in-law, Albert Hall of Mobile; six great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Craver's Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, at 11 a.m. at Saint Peter's Baptist Church with Pastor Allen Miller officiating. Burial followed at Saint Peter's Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were family members and friends.
