T.R. Miller varsity boys lost on the road Thursday losing a non-conference game to Samson high school (67-57).

“First half we played well being down by one point going into halftime,” said coach Terrence Walker. We came out in the second half slow and just couldn’t come from that.

“Offensively we did an excellent job scoring 57 points, and defensively we played kind of bad,” said Walker. We must hold teams within the 40s or 50s scoring margin to possibly get a win.

Josh Jolly and Shiv Patel combined for 35 points. “Leading scorer Jolly had a pretty good game scoring 19 points, and Patel scoring 16 points,” said Walker. Jolly had 13 points at the end of the first half, and Patel had 11 where nine of his points came from behind the perimeter.

Kedarrius Jenkins and Jordan Hails combined for 12 points, as they scored six points apiece. Cole Jernigan and Ryshaun Autrey combined for six points scoring three points separately. Also, Cam Knapp and Blake Jernigan scored four points combined.

Walker said, “we fought to the end and that’s all that matters.”
