Lady Warhawks defeats Bishop

The CACC Lady Warhawks softball team played a double header against Bishop State CC Tuesday defeating them in both games.

The first game resulted with the Lady Warhawks outrunning Bishop 11-0. Then in the second game the Warhawks defeated them 11-3. It was a great win for the Warhawks who have been struggling this season with an 11-35 record. So far this season the Lady Warhawks are 11-11 when playing at home, but they struggle when playing on the road. They are 0-11 when they are on the road.

Their batting average is .269, they have 184 runs and 11 homeruns so far this season.

In the first game the Warhawks got six runs in the first inning, three runs in the second and two in the fourth to clinch game one. The batters for Bishop had to face Caitlin Schroeder as pitcher. Krystal Cahill led them with three hits, two runs, one run batted in, one stolen base and two doubles.

Mollie Foster had one run, one hit, four runs batted in and a homerun. Katie Williams had two runs, two hits, a stolen base and four assists. Katelyn Splawn had one run, one hit, one run batted in, one walk and a double.

They combined for 11 runs, 11 hits, nine runs batted in, one walk, 15 putouts and eight assists.

In game two the Warhawks started off slow allowing Bishop to get three runs in the first inning. However, the Lady Warhawks made a few adjustments and got back in the game with a run in the second inning, four runs in the third inning, four in more runs in the fourth and two runs in the fifth inning.

The batters of Bishop faced Ashleigh Price 15 times and Caitlin Schroeder seven times.

Hannah Driscoll had three at bats, one run and two hits. Krystal Cahill had three at bats, two runs, two hits and one run batted in. Katelyn Splawn four at bats, two runs, two hits and two runs batted in. Brianna Morgan two at bats, two runs, one hit, one walk and four assists. Mollie Foster had three at bats, one run, one run batted in and two assists.

The Lady Warhawks combined for 22 at bats, 11 runs, nine hits, six runs batted in seven walks, 15 putouts and seven assists.

The played well in both games and overall in both games they combined 47 at bats, 22 runs, 20 hits, 15 runs batted in eight walks, 30 putouts and 15 assists.

They also played Enterprise State CC and lost the double header 13-4 and 5-2. They are looking to regroup, as they will be on the road Thursday playing Coastal Alabama-North and Sunday against Lurleen B. Wallace CC.
