Local parents with children in the Escambia County Schools system will feel the ease in their pocketbooks this school year.

The Escambia County Board of Education approved the community eligibility provision for the 2018-2019 school year for kids to obtain breakfast and lunch for no charge.

All students enroll in the school/district may participate in the breakfast and lunch program. “Families will not have to fill out applications, and we want to encourage the students to take advantage of the school meal program,” John Knott, superintendent of education said. “It is also an great savings opportunity and a great offer from the school system,” Knott said.
