Good Music, Great Fun

This Saturday, Belleville and Evergreen avenues will become the spot where all the action is as the Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce hosts its second annual Porch Fest.
Porch Fests are designed to bring music and neighborhoods together to encourage and celebrate a sense of community. The 2017 Porch Fest accomplished that goal, organizers said. “The homeowners on the 600 blocks of Historic Belleville and Evergreen Avenues have enthusiastically and graciously offered their porches as stages where country, gospel, blues, Southern rock and many other genres of music will be performed throughout the afternoon,” said Linda Williamson, Chamber President. “Performers this year will be Highway Home, Patrick Lowery and Dwight Milligan, Kenny Stitcher, Ben Norris, Trio Del Fuego, Jordon Torrez, Swann Bradley and Company, Thomas Hines, Dew Pendleton, Ben Murphy, Brook Brown, Steven Dolihite and Shannon Brantley.”
Earlier in the day Chris Golden will be performing on his mother’s porch along with brother Rusty and other family members. At 7 p.m. Chris will take the main stage and open for the finale performance this year, Sweet Tea Trio.
Alabama natives Savannah Coker, Kate Falcon and Victoria Camp, better known as Sweet Tea Trio, were named Alabama’s Country Female Artists of the Year in 2016. In 2017, they were chosen by LiveNation to be the opener for Bon Jovi in Birmingham and wowed fans at the CMA Fest in Nashville. Sweet Tea Trio performed at 9 arena shows opening for Kid Rock and 6 shows as special guest of Kid Rock on his eighth annual Chillin’ the Most Cruise. The Trio’s self-titled EP debuted on the i-Tunes Country Chart at number 11 this past June.
Sweet Tea Trio has always believed in the power of their fans and appeal to the very young and young at heart. Their fans and promoters all agree on one thing…these young women bring an amazing energy and enthusiasm to each performance and are as sweet and authentic off stage, taking time to meet their fans, sign autographs and share stories.
This family-friendly event is free to the public. Food trucks will be set up and a Children’s section will be included. This year Cinderella will visit the Children’s section for a photo opportunity with all the little ones.
“None of the Chamber events would be possible without the generous support of our sponsors,” Williamson said.
