Brewton man charged with murder

According to Escambia County Sheriff Heath Jackson, Rufus Evans III, 54, of Brewton was arrested on May 15 and charged with one count of murder on May 18.
Jackson reported, “On 5-9-2020, Escambia County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 3660 William Cook Road in reference to an unknown disturbance. Upon arrival, Tyler Lisenby, was located on the front porch deceased from a gunshot wound.”
Lisenby, 22, was a life-long resident of Brewton.
“During the course of the investigation, Rufus Evans III was arrested and charged with one count of Murder,” stated Jackson.
Evans was sentenced during a bond setting on May 18 at the Escambia County Courthouse. “Evans was given a $300,000.00 bond and is currently housed in the Escambia County Detention Center,” said Jackson.
