Pitching and offense key win

Josh Presley went seven innings and allowed three hits and Clay Simpson was 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs to send JDCC to a 6-5 win over LBW of Andalusia Friday afternoon in Brewton.
With the win, JDCC improved to 21-24 overall and 10-12 in conference play.
JDCC scored two runs in the first and one in the second along with one in the fourth and two in the sixth inning to hold a 6-3 lead and held on after LBW scored two in the top of the eighth inning for the one run win.
Presley allowed three runs and three hits while striking out three to earn the win.
Derrick Young earned the save with a scoreless ninth inning.
JDCC grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the first when Justin Reeves led the inning off with a single and Cordaro Lindsey reached on an error.
Simpson followed with a two RBI double for the first runs of the games.
LBW took a 3-2 lead in the top of the second, but JDCC tied the game in the bottom of the second on a Reeves RBI single that scored Hunter Norris who reached on a single. Norris was 2-for-4 on the day.
The Warhawks took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning when Cody Sanderson scored Lindsey who reached on a fielder's choice and then advanced to third on a LBW error.
JDCC added two big runs in the bottom of the sixth inning when Lindsey doubled in Kyle Snedeker who reached on a single. Lindsey scored on an RBI single by Simpson.
LBW added two runs in the top of the eighth inning to cut the lead to 6-5, but JDCC held on for the win.
Reeves was 3-for-5 with one RBI and Lindsey was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Cody Sanderson was 1-for-4 with one RBI and Bryant Hall was 1-for-4. Snedeker was 2-for-4 in the win.
Alabama Southern 5, JDCC 4
The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team fell to 18-22 overall and 9-13 in conference play over the weekend with a 5-4 loss to Alabama Southern in Monroeville.
The Warhawks held a 4-3 lead in the top of the eighth inning before surrendering two runs in the bottom of the inning and falling by one.
JDCC was held to eight hits in the game and committed five errors.
Clay Simpson was 2-for-4 at the plate with two double to lead the Warhawks. Cordaro Lindsey was 1-for-4 with a double.
Hunter Norris was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Josh Presley got the start on the mound and the no decision. Presley went seven innings and allowed six hits and four runs (one earned) while walking three and striking out one.
Derrick Young took the loss going one inning and allowing one hits and one run (not earned).
Alabama Southern 16,
JDCC 6
In game two against the Eagles, Alabama Southern pounded out 20 hits and scored seven runs in the third and five in the eighth inning to win 16-6.
Clay Simpson had two doubles in the loss as he was 2-for-4 at the plate and Bryant Hall had two RBIs.
Hunter Brown took the loss going two and two-thirds innings and allowing six hits and eight runs (none earned) while walking three and striking out one.
Alabama Southern 5, JDCC 4
Alabama Southern scored three seventh inning runs after JDC lead 4-2 to take the sweep in the series.
Ben Blodgett had a double, as did Justin Reeves. Reeves was 2-for-3 on the day at the plate.
Derrick Young took the loss going one inning and two-thirds and allowing two hits and three runs (two earned) while walking one and striking out two.
JDCC 3, Lawson 2
After dropping three games to Alabama Southern, JDCC responded with a 3-2 win over Lawson state to go to 19-24 overall.
JDCC scored one run in the third and two in the fourth and held on for the 3-2 win.
Blodgett, Lindsay, Nick Pannasch and Cody Sanderson all doubled in the win as Josh Benton took the win on the mound and Hunter Brown got the save.
Benton went six innings and allowed three hits and two walks and struck out one. Brown went three innings and struck out three and walked two while giving up three hits and two runs.
JDCC 5, East Central 4,
The Warhawks picked up their second win in a row with a 5-4 win over East Central Thursday at home.
Kyle Snedeker, Reeves and Simpson all doubled, with Snedeker going 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Derek Lowry took the win on the mound going seven innings and allowing three hits and four runs (three earned) and walked three and struck out three in the 5-4 win for the JDCC Warhawks.
