Mrs. Mary Louise Tucker Thomas, 56, died Sunday, June 8, 2008. She was a native of Pensacola, a former resident of Brewton, and a resident of Huntsville. She had been employed at Harris Home for Children since 2003 and she was a 2004 graduate of Oakwood College with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She was a member of Oakwood University Seventh Day Adventist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie Lee Tucker and Annie Bell Tucker; her grandparents, Willie Lige Fountain and Bessie Lee Fountain; and one brother-in-law, Melvin Hall.
She is survived by her husband, Morris Thomas of Huntsville; two daughters, Lekesha (Lemar) Bi'zzell and Shameeka (Stephen) Brewster, both of Huntsville; two granddaughters, Ashailah Thomas Bi'zzell and Aniyah Thomas Bi'zell, both of Huntsville; her mother-in-law, Lois Brown of Brewton; five siblings, Charles (Rosetta) Tucker of Atmore, Joanne (Thomas) Ford, Rogers (Naomi) Tucker, Gloria (Andrew) Luckie and Mildred (James) Salter, all of Mobile; three brothers-in-law, Neal (Joanna) Thomas and Eddie Lee Thomas, both of Brewton, Raymond “Nuck” Thomas of Huntsville; two sisters-in-law, Linda Hall of Brewton and Clara (Henry) Sellers of Atlanta; four aunts, Beulah Dortch, Shirley Jean Fountain, Mary Anna Fountain and Carolyn Fountain, all of Brewton; two uncles, Tommy Tucker of Monroeville and Jesse Fountain of Boykin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 13, at noon at Second Saint Siloam Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Jay Blue officiating and Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
