Brewton area residents will have an opportunity to turn their yards green with hardwood and flowering trees as a local organization plans a tree sale this month.
Meadorwood Garden Club will hold the annual tree sale on Thursday, Nov. 13, from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
The location of the sale is First Baptist Church parking lot on Belleville Avenue, across the street from the post office.
Peggy Bracken, Barbara Comander, and Peggy Owens have organized the event and will conduct the sale.
The trees will be provided by Doug Shelburne with Smurfit-Stone nursery.
All varieties of trees will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Prices will vary, depending on species and size, according to club members.
Trees included in the sale will be River Birch, Bald Cypress, Flowering Dogwood, Persimmon, Yellow Poplar, Redbud, and several varieties of Oak, including Saw Tooth Oak and Willow Oak.
