Mrs. Mable Jones Blair, 100, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at a local hospital. She was a retired nurse and a member of Brooklyn Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.A. Blair and her parents, Dr. and Mrs. U.L. Jones; her siblings, Mary Jones Fine, Willie Lee J. Dortch, U.L. “Doc” Jones, and Graham “Bear” Jones.
She is survived by four children, Marietta Snyder of St. Louis, Mo., Dale Blair of Brewton, Susan Blair of Brooklyn, and Julia Blair of Enterprise; five grandchildren, John Blair, Donna Shultz, Blair McWay, Wesley Meeks, Jacqueline Dix; nine great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 11, at 10:10 a.m. at Brooklyn Baptist Church. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Cope Funeral Chapel directing.
