JDCC softball on winning streak

Ashleigh Allgood was 6-for-6 at the plate with seven RBIs and picked up the win on the mound for the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks as they improved to 7-11 overall and earned their fifth straight wins with a doubleheader sweep of Carl Sandburg Community College Tuesday in Brewton.
JDCC defeated CSCC 10-2 in game one and 12-3 in game two to get the sweep.
JDCC pounded out 12 hits in game one and 12 hits in game two to get the big win.
Game one: JDCC 10, CSCC 2
In game one against Carl Sandburg Community College, JDCC trailed 1-0 after the first inning but scored 10 unanswered runs through four innings to take a 10-1 lead and claim the 10-2 win.
Allgood took the win on the mound and was 3-for-3 at the plate with four RBIs and a double.
Allgood pitched five innings and allowed no earned runs, three hits, walked two and struck out seven in the win.
Sarah Vardeman was 1-for-3 at the plate and Kristin Myers was 1-for-2.
Jessica Morris was 2-for-3 with one RBI and CaSandra Yarbrough was 1-for-1 with two RBIs.
Sarah Huggins was 1-for-2 and Lauren Marshall was 2-for-3 with one RBI and a double.
Candice Lawrence was 1-for-2 with one RBI.
JDCC scored two runs in the first and second inning and four runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth inning to claim a 10-1 lead.
Carl Sandburg added a run in the fifth inning, but JDCC held on for the win 10-2.
Game two: JDCC 12, CSCC 3
In game two, JDCC scored two runs in the first inning along with six in the second inning and two in the third inning to take an early 10-0 lead to cruise to a 12-3 win and improve to 7-11 with their fifth straight win.
CSCC added one run in the fourth and two in the fifth inning and JDCC added two in the fourth of the their own to claim the 12-3 win.
Allgood continued her tear at the plate as she went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a double to lead the Lady Warhawks.
Vardeman was 1-for-2 with a double and one RBI and Tiffany Jean Duncan was 3-for-3.
Myers was 2-for-3 and Aleah Payne was 1-for-1 with two RBIs.
Amber Wilson was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a double and Lawrence was 1-for-1 with one RBI.
Kayla McKnight took the win on the mound for the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks.
McKnight went five innings and allowed no earned runs on three hits, walked one and struck out five in the win.
On Wednesday afternoon at home in a re-scheduled game, JDCC improved their win streak to seven straight wins with a double-header sweep of Southern Union.
JDCC defeated Southern Union 8-0 in game one and 8-5 in game two.
Game one: JDCC 8, Southern Union 0
JDCC improved to 8-11 with an 8-0 win over Southern Union in game one.
JDCC scored five runs in the first inning and three more in the third inning to claim the eight-run win.
Allgood claimed the win on the mound for the Lady Warhawks. She allowed no runs and only one hit in five innings, walked one and struck out three in the win.
Payne was 3-for-3 with four RBIs and a double to lead JDCC.
Allgood was 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Denney was 1-for-1 with one RBI and Morris was 2-for-2.
Yarbrough was 1-for-2 and Wilson and Marshall were both 1-for-3.
Game two: JDCC 8, Southern Union 5
After Southern Union had posted a four-spot in the top of the third inning with four runs, JDCC used and eight-run fifth inning to hold an 8-4 lead as they improved to 9-11 with an 8-5 win.
Morris took the win on the mound for JDCC. She allowed eight hits in six runs and allowed three earned runs (five total) and struck out two.
Huggins led JDCC with a 2-for-3 day and two RBIs.
Yarbrough was 1-for-1 with one RBI and Morris was 1-for-4.
Vardeman was 1-for-3 with one RBI and a double.
