EC 9-10 All Stars fall to Opp 5-4, eliminated

In an elimination game Tuesday in Opp, the Escambia County All Stars dropped a heartbreaker to Opp 5-4.
The loss eliminated Escambia County’s 9-10 all stars from the tournament with a 1-2 record.
With the game tied at 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning Opp’s leadoff batter got on base due to an error and advanced to third base on a fielder’s choice for one out.
With the tying run at third base for Opp, another fielder’s choice was hit and the Opp runner was thrown out at home for out two, but the runner advanced to second base on the play.
An Escambia County wild pitch advanced the runner to third base and on the next hit, a hard shot down third base, Opp scored the game-winning run to win by one run at 5-4.
Escambia County took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning only to see Opp score three runs and lead 3-2 after the first inning of play.
Escambia County then scored one run in the top of the second inning to tie the game at 3-3.
Opp failed to score in the bottom of the inning and both teams failed to score in the third inning as the game stated tied at 3-3 after three innings.
In the fourth inning, Escambia County failed to score as Opp put one run on the board to take a 4-3 lead after four innings of play.
Escambia County quickly tied the game up at 4-4 in the top of the fifth inning as Opp scored the lone run in the sixth inning to win.
In the top of the sixth inning, Escambia County had two runners thrown at home plate trying to score on passed balls.
Matt Hutchins took the loss on the mound for Escambia County in relief of Conner White.
White relieved starter Hayden Hammond in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Hutchins went 2/3 of an inning and allowed one run (none earned).
White went 2/3 of an inning and allowed no runs on no hits, walked one and struck out one.
Hammond went 4 1/3 innings and allowed four runs on four hits, walked three, struck out six and hit one.
Offensively for Escambia County, Quinn Riley was 2-for-2 and Blake McGraw was 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Brandon Moye was 1-for-2 and Ty Davis was 1-for-2 with a double.
