TRM volleyball sweeps Choctaw Co.

In an area game doubleheader Monday night at T.R. Miller, the Lady Tiger volleyball team improved to 14-2 overall and 3-1 in area play with their wins over Choctaw County.
T.R. Miller swept the first game of the night winning 25-8, 25-8, and 25-6.
In game two, T.R. Miller won 25-11, 25-14, and 25-4 to get the win.
In the first game of set one, Taylor Guthrie led the Lady Tigers with 13 straight service points, one kill and two aces.
Natalie Neal led in game two with 10 straight service points and two kills and was followed by Leigh Margaret Bostic’s 10 straight in game three.
In the second game, Neal led with seven service points. Teralyn Moore led in game two with eight points and three aces.
Bostic led in game three with 13 straight service points and two aces.
The wins ended the regular season for the Lady Tigers. T.R. Miller will end play with the Escambia County tournament beginning Saturday in Brewton.
Since the tournament began in 2005, T.R. Miller has won every tournament making their record 4-0.
Tournament play will begin at 9 a.m. with T.R. Miller taking on Flomaton followed with a 10 a.m. game between W.S. Neal and Escambia County.
T.R. Miller and W.S. Neal will meet at 11 a.m. followed by Flomaton and Escambia County at noon. W.S. Neal will face Flomaton at 1 p.m.
T.R. Miller and Escambia County will conclude the tournament with a 2 p.m. game.
