TRM B-team hands WSN fourth straight loss

The T.R. Miller Tiger B-team handed the W.S. Neal B-team their fourth straight loss Tuesday night at home in Brewton as they defeated the Eagles 49-28.
The loss for the Eagles dropped them to 4-9 overall while the Tigers improved to 3-4 with the win.
The Tigers used runs of 9-0, 6-0, 8-0, and 13-0 in the game to help turn a close first half into a 33-18 advantage in the second half to claim the 21-point win.
T.R. Miller led 9-5 after the first quarter and 16-10 at the half following a 7-5 advantage in the second quarter over the Eagles.
The game was tied 10-10 with 3:11 left in the quarter before T.R. Miller ended the quarter on a 6-0 run and extended their run to 9-0 to start the third quarter.
In the third quarter, the Tigers outscored W.S. Neal 19-7 to extend their lead to 35-17 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, W.S. Neal cut the Tiger lead to 36-21 with 5:01 left to play only to see them respond with a 13-0 run to make a 15-point lead turn into a 28-point lead with 57.9 seconds left in the game.
W.S. Neal would end the game on a 7-0 run, but it was not enough as the Tigers earned the win.
T.R. Miller was 21-of-33 from the free throw line in the game with 12-of-19 coming in the first half.
The Eagles were 7-of-17 from the free throw line in the game.
All seven of T.R. Miller’s points in the second quarter came from free throws.
Darrion Salter led the Tigers and the game in scoring with 21 points, seven shy of the Eagles total in the game.
Caleb Hubbard and Randy Davis had eight points for T.R. Miller in the win and Aaron Yuhasz added four points for the Tigers.
Mark Bryant had three points and David Barragan and Caleb Dickey both had two points.
Jerric Woods chipped in one point for the Tigers in the win.
For the Eagles, Jalen Harrod led with nine points and Donovan Millican and Marquese Banks both had six points in the loss.
Jaquan Tucker added three points and Josiah Nettles and Lorenzo Womack added two points.
T.R. Miller was set to take on Bayside Academy Friday in Daphne and will be back in action next Friday, Jan. 22, at home against Cottage Hill at 4:30 p.m.
W.S. Neal was set to take on UMS-Wright on Friday in Mobile and will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Jackson for a 4 p.m. tip with the Aggies.
