While voters headed to the polls Tuesday, heavy thunderstorms and even a possible tornado rolled through the Escambia County.
A tornado touching down near the state line was reported mid-morning Tuesday, but apparently it touched down quickly and then returned to the skies. As of press time, no damage from the storm was reported.
A heavy line of thunderstorms rolled through Escambia County Tuesday, with showers picking up intensity and then slacking off throughout the day. Some areas suffered minor flooding from the storms, which came on the heels of weeks of steady rain in the area.
The forecast for the rest of the week calls for partly cloudy skies and mild temperatures, with the chance of more thunderstorms returning on Sunday.
