Mrs. Ruth Johns Alexander, 86, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2002. She was a native, a resident of Brewton at West Gate Village and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Alvin "Alex" Alexander; her parents, Will and Mary Ann Johns; four sisters, Mary Nelson, Mattie McLelland, Lorena Hare and Leona Bolan Miller and two brothers, Phillip Johns and Henry Johns.
She is survived by a son, James Haygood Alexander of Eight Mile, Ala.; one daughter, Sandra Alexander Thames of Alabaster; one brother, Ed Johns; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m. at the chapel at Craver's Funeral Home with James Aubrey Wilson officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Family Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Rick Alexander, Jason Alexander, Bobby White, Jeffrey Thames, Brady Thames and Jerry Wilson.
