A Brewton man escaped from the city jail Tuesday, after being let out of his cell to make a phone call.
According to Brewton Police Chief David (Mickey) Lovelace, Jonny Addisson, 28, of Brooks St. escaped around 9 a.m.
Addisson was in custody after being picked up Tuesday morning for a violation of a protection order issued by the district court. Lovelace said that just last Tuesday, he had been released after serving 125 days in the city jail.
He said that although Addisson is not considered dangerous, anyone with information about his whereabouts should call the Brewton Police Department at 867-3212.
According to Lovelace, Addisson is a black male of average height and build.
