JDCC spikers notch 1-2 mark at Faulkner State

They may have lost two of three matches, but the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks volleyball team came away with plenty of positives at Friday's Faulkner State Invitational.
JDCC opened the season and the tournament with a 30-25, 30-18 victory over Central Alabama.
Holly Almony posted a team high seven kills. Tiffany Anderson, who notched a team best seven service aces, and Jessica Powell both had five kills.
In game two, JDCC dropped a 30-14, 30-16 decision to Wallace-Hanceville. Lucretia Merritt led the Lady Warhawks with six kills.
In its pool finale, the Lady Warhawks came up short against Northwst Shoals 30-26, 30-25.
Almony notched a team high five kills and four service aces. Colby Adams and Powell each had four kills.
The Lady Warhawks, who got a rematch at home against Northwest Shoals Saturday, are off until September 9 when they host Bevill State-Fayette at 6 p.m.
