United Fund helps the Brewton Public Library provide more services for local residents.
Library director Brooke Walker said, "These monies from United Fund have really been a Godsend for the staff and me."
In the past year, United Fund funding helped the library sponsor and after-school program, provide occupational software, and with literacy programs.
The Brewton Public Library is one of 15 agencies that will benefit from the $90,000 United Fund hopes to raise for 2005. United Fund asks citizens to give the equivalent of one hour's wages each month. Donations can be mailed to United Fund of Brewton and East Brewton at P.O. Box 34, Brewton, AL 36427.
