While the 2005 season has not even got underway yet, Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawks baseball coach Jim Morrill has gotten a head start on the 2006 season with the signing of five players.
One of the signings is a familiar name to area fans, T.R. Miller catcher Jordan Ball. Ball (6-2, 200 lb.) along with David Browder (6-2, 210 lb.) of Russell County is one of two catchers Morrill has signed.
JDCC has also signed Russell County outfielder/first baseman Kuyaunnis Miles (6-1, 180 lb.) and Tate (Fla.) outfielder/third baseman Bryan Schaff.
Morrill has also added to its pitching corps with the addition of Drew Owens, a 5-11, 165-pound righthander from Cedar Town (Ga.).
Morrill hopes to add to next year's recruiting class throughout the spring.
