Mr. James D. Deslonde Sr., 86, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at a Pensacola hospital. He was a veteran of World War II with the U.S. Air Corp. He was retired from the State of Alabama Department of Revenue after 31 years of service, and maintained a tax and bookkeeping business until his death. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Sean Vincent Deslonde.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth A. Deslonde; three sons, James D. (Charleen) Deslonde Jr., and Michael (Anna) Deslonde, both of Brewton, and Andre A. (Linda) Deslonde of Flomaton; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 17, from 10 a.m. until service time.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 17, at 11 a.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with speaker Eric N. Taylor directing. Burial will follow at Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Brett Deslonde, Jacques Deslonde, Nicholas Deslonde, Adrian Deslonde, Cory McHenry and Matt Arrington. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter W. Ash, Charles Richard Ash, James W. Ash, Tommy Arrington, Larry Jones and Tom Arrington.
