Mr. Gary Wynton Shanks, 57, of Appleton Road, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Escambia County. He was a transportation engineer with Sneider International, a member of North Brewton Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Lawrinda E. Smith Shanks of Brewton; one daughter, Michelle (Steve) Stone of Beaufort, S.C.; and two brothers, Robert (Diane)Shanks of Brewton and Eugene (Debbie) Shanks of Gulf Shores.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 23, at 2 p.m. at North Brewton Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael King officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Cemetery on Appleton Road with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
