Mrs. Lula Mae Smith Nobles, 95, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005. She was a member of Second Saint Siloam Baptist Church. She had been employed at T.R. Miller Mill Company as a mill worker and as a domestic housekeeper for different families. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Nobles, and three children, Gladys Mae Bibb, Charlie Nobles Jr. and Ruby Lee Nobles-Brown.
She is survived by a son, Carl Allen Smith; a daughter, Bertha Mae (David) Nobles-Union; a brother, Leroy (Cleola) Smith of Brewton; two sisters, Elizabeth Leavelle of Chicago, Ill., and Alice Carmichael of Milton, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 5, at 11 a.m. at Second Saint Siloam Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. W.J. Blue officiating. Burial followed at Baptist Hill Cemetery with Presley-Fluker directing.
