Mr. Walter Robert Rose, 65, died March 22, 2005, in Brewton. He was a bio-technician engineer with D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Francis Rose.
He is survived by six sons, Kenneth Ray Rose of Florida, Ronnie Eugene (Sharon) Rose of Atmore, and William Robert (Elizabeth) Rose, Charles Michael (Alison) Rose, Steven Wayne (Tammy) Rose and John Edward (Melanie) Rose, al of Brewton; two daughters, Debbie Ann (Grant) Kirk and Alice Marie (Davey Ray) Grantham, both of Brewton; one brother, Charles Michael Mellow of El Paso, Texas; a brother-in-law, William Jessie (Gracey) Guy of Excel; three sisters-in-law, Betty Marie Nelson of Pensacola, Fla., Ellen K. Kutzer of North Carolina, and Mary Guy of Monroeville; 28 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held March 24 at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Chapel in Atmore, with Pastor Don Cox and Pastor Donald Wilson officiating. Graveside services followed in Walnut Hill Baptist Cemetery.
