Mrs. Mary E. Samuels, 82, died Friday, March 25, 2005, at a local hospital. She was a native of Brewton, attended Southern Normal School and graduated from Alabama State University. She taught school for more than 30 years in Escambia County and was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sisters, Roberta Biggs of Century, Fla., and Lizzie Biggs of Brewton; two brothers, James (Evelyn) Biggs of Montgomery and David (Laura) Biggs of Philadelphia, Penn., and many other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 1, at 1 p.m. at Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. William Brown officiating. Burial followed at the Piney Grove Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
