The No. 1 China Buffet officially opened for lunch on Thursday. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held that morning with Brewton City Council members present, as well as members of the Brewton Chamber of Commerce.
Located on Douglas Avenue, next door to Jalisco's Mexican restaurant, the China buffet features a water fountain when you first step into the door, a magnificent crystal chandelier and a "Mafioso" table-as City Clerk John Angel called it-located in the corner. "Anytime you bring in a new business it's great," said Judy Crane, chamber administrative assistant.
Owner of the business, Ni and his workers were busy getting prepared for the grand opening on Thursday. Workers were cleaning tables, setting buffet plates and placing Oriental and American dishes at the hot bar buffet.
The restaurant is open for a Sunday buffet, 1 a.m. until 10 p.m., a lunch buffet, Monday to Sunday from 10:30 am. Until 4 p.m. and a dinner buffet, Monday to Thursday, 4 p.m. until 10 p.m., and Friday to Saturday, 4 p.m. until 11 p.m.
There is also take-out available for people who would rather dine out. However, the relaxed, family atmosphere will lure you to eat in.
