Mrs. Mildred Young Crawford, 70, died Saturday, May 7, 2005, at a local hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of the Brewton area. She was a homemaker and a member of East Brewton Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Robert D. Young; a son, Stephen Young, and a brother, William Chesser.
She is survived by her husband, Charles F. Crawford of Brewton; four sons, Mitchell Young of Lowell, Mich., D.J. Young of Castleberry, Phillip Young of Andalusia and the Rev. Benjamin Young of Henagar, Ala.; a daughter, Barbara Adams of Excel; two stepchildren, Charles F. "Chuck" Crawford Jr. of Andalusia, and Trina Angela Crawford of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; one brother, Burl Chesser of Albany, Ga.; one sister, Elizabeth Johnson of Crestview, Fla.; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 10, at 1 p.m. at East Brewton Church of God with the Rev. Benjamin Young and Father Adrian Cook officiating. Burial followed at Cooper Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
