Neither T.R. Miller shortstop Emily Layton, LEFT, nor second baseman Leslie Nalty were able to get a handle on the ball, as Montgomery Catholic's Lauren Vercelli slid safely into second base in Saturday's sub-state series. T.R. Miller's season came to a close with an 18-11 record after the 6-2, 6-0 series loss.
