Mrs. Faye Braswell Jernigan, 58, of Alco Drive, died Saturday, May 21, 2005, in a Birmingham medical facility after a brief illness. She was a native of Jacksonville, Fla., and a resident of Brewton since 1966. She was the director of the Escambia County Transit Authority, Past Worthy Matron Eastern Star, Brewton Chapter and board member of Reid State Technical College. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Brewton.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Jernigan of Brewton; two sons, Clay Braswell of Columbia, S.C., and Robbie (Kelly) Jernigan of Brewton; one daughter, Andrea (David) Tubbs of Alabaster; a brother, Henry Lee Braswell of Brandon, Fla.; two sisters, Charlene Lundy and Bobbie Ryals, both of Brewton; her mother-in-law, Luvenia Jernigan of Brewton and three grandchildren, Hunter Jernigan, Baleigh Tubbs and Anna Leigh Tubbs.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 24, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Fitts and the Rev. Ron Headley officiating. Burial followed at Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
