EB Braves, Dodgers wear City crowns

East Brewton completed a sweep of the Little League City Tournament championships Sunday when its Braves rallied to nip the Brewton Braves 8-7 for the Age 9-10 title.
East Brewton's other title came Saturday when its Dodgers blanked the Brewton Mets 8-0 in the Age 11-12 title matchup.

East Brewton's Braves let three leads get away before it pushed across the go-ahead and eventual winning run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
The East Brewton Braves, who had leads of 2-0 and 3-2 during the first three innings, fell behind 6-3 when Brewton's Braves rallied with four runs in the top of the fourth inning.
Brewton's Braves took advantage of five walks and a key RBI single by William Whittle in its rally.
That advantage held until East Brewton's Braves strung together a four-run rally of its own in the bottom half of the fourth inning that put them back on top 7-6. Dalton Evans sparked the comeback with a key two-run double, while Chase Kaylor and Johnathan Hall each had RBI singles.
Whittle delivered his second RBI single in as many innings in the top of the fifth that pulled the Brewton Braves even at 7-7.
The East Brewton Braves' decisive run in the bottom half of the fifth inning was set up by three walks that loaded the bases. Brewton Braves reliever Ryan Hunt then struck Evans, the first batter he faced, with a pitch that forced in Andrew Findley with the go-ahead run.
East Brewton's Braves got a single, a double and three RBIs from Kaylor. Evans had a double and also drove in three runs, while Hall had two singles. Jarrett Pearson and Damion Williams each added a single.
Kaylor went the final two innings for the win.
East Brewton's Braves got two singles by Wes Maddox, a double by Hunt, two singles and two RBIs by Whittle and a single by Lowell Swain.
(EB) Dodgers 8, (B) Mets 0
The Dodgers got their third straight dominant pitching performance to clinch the championship.
After Logan Williamson threw a no-hitter in round one and Hayden Cooper fanned 15 in round two, Joseph Strength fanned seven and tossed a complete game three-hitter in the championship game.
The Dodgers got the only run they needed in the opening inning. They broke the game open with a four-run second inning, another marker in the fourth and two more in the fifth.
Josh Tompkins had two singles and scored two runs to pace the Dodgers' offense. Strength had a single and scored two runs. Taylor Ballard and Hayden Cooper both had a single. Justin Tompkins added a triple and an RBI.
The Brewton Mets were led by Michael McGaha's two singles. Rickey Curry added a single.
