Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawks basketball coach Allen Gainer has filled most, if not the remainder of his 2005-06 recruiting class with the addition of four more signings.
The list includes Timothy Rodgers, a 6-1 guard from Lowndes High School in Valdosta (Ga.).
Also coming into the JDCC program is Tyler Hammond, a 6-5 guard/forward from Ponce DeLeon (Fla.).
Another recruit is Jeremy Cleveland, a 6-5 forward from Raceland (La.). Cleveland is a former high school teammate of Kedric Wilson
The final recent signing is Thomas Tunberg, a 6-6 forward from Fort Walton Beach (Fla.) who played last year at Okaloosa-Walton Junior College.
The four latest signings brings JDCC's 2005-06 recruiting class to five members. The Warhawks had previously signed Lyndon Butler, a 5-11 guard from Slidell (La.).
At the same time Gainer announced the additions of his recruiting class, he also indicated sophomore members Richard Ford, Keith Myers and Cory Webb had left the program.
The 6-8 Ford transferred into the program midway through the 2003-04 season from Weatherford Junior College (Tx.). Last season he averaged 10.7 points and 9.2 rebounds a game. He also dished out a team high 3.1 assists.
The 6-5 Myers averaged 6.9 points and 4.8 rebounds a game, while the 5-8 Webb contributed 3.9 points and 2.9 assists an outing.
Prior to the departure of Ford, Myers and Webb, the Warhawks were slated to return 12 players from last year's team.
