Mini Mites wrap up division title;

Mites, Midgets also notch wins

Although it took them a week longer than their fellow league members, the Brewton Mini Mites wrapped up their division championship Saturday when they knocked off Flomaton 26-8.
Quarterback Jaylon Herbert ran for two touchdowns and surpassed 100 yards rushing for the day. He also threw a 65-yard yard touchdown pass to Markail Mitchell.
Terry Samuel also contributed to the Mini Mites offensive attack with a 45-yard touchdown run.
Cade Castleberry, Amber Wells and Alex Daugherty paced the Mini Mites on the defensive side.
The Bretwon Mites and Mini Mites also notched victories over Flomaton.
The Mites rolled to a 38-0 win thanks to a pair of touchdown runs from quarterback Dillan Carpenter and Jamal Spears.
Darrion Salter, Korie Jackson and Montal Montgomery all contributed touchdown runs.
Wonye Farris, Devin Stallworth, Dominique Jackson and Michael Smith paced the Mites on the defensive side.
The Brewton Midgets blanked Flomaton 31-0 thanks to three touchdown runs by Latrae Williams, who also topped 100 yards rushing for the day.
Anthony Herbert and David Ikner also chipped in a touchdown run.
Kirk Moore, Rickey Currey, Garrett Lindsey and Randy Davis paced the Midgets' defensive effort.
All three Brewton Youth League teams will get first-round byes for the playoffs. They open up postseason competition November 5.
