Mrs. Lillie Laurene Sims Travis, 79, of Pensacola, Fla., died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, in a Pensacola nursing facility after an extended illness. She was a native and life long resident of Escambia County, Ala. She was a member of East Brewton Baptist Church and was retired from Sheltex Manufacturing. She was preceded in death by her husband, P.W. Pinky Travis; two brothers, Earl Sims and Elbert Sims; and two sisters, Arlene Gentry and Audrey Watford.
She is survived by a son, Bruce (Carolyn) Travis of Greenwood, S.C.; a daughter, Jane Travis Lambeth of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; three sisters, Ellen Ad of McDavid, Fla., and Nadine Eller and Maxine Powell, both of Pensacola; four grandchildren, Robert Lambeth, Melissa Caston Guay, Deborah Harrison and Angel Travis; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Freeman, Speaker Robert Lambeth and Speaker Bruce Travis officiating. Burial followed at Travis Cemetery at Travis Methodist Church with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
