Mr. Cecil Jackson Selman, 77, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006. He was a native of Monroe County and had been a resident of Forsyth for a number of years. He retired as owner/operator of Forsyth Hardwood and was a member of Forsyth United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Byrd and Rhoda Strength Selman.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Selman of Forsyth; his children, Tom Selman, David M. (Beth) Selman and John (Tammy) Selman, all of Forsyth; his brother, Lee &#8220Sonny” Selman of Brewton; his sisters, Eunice Faircloth of Brewton, Eula Gregory of Ferriday, La., Mary Powell of Mobile and Fay Bowdion of Quincy, Fla.; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 14, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Stephens officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Craver's Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forsyth United Methodist Church Building Fund, 68 West Johnson Street, Forsyth, Ga. 31029, or to Hospice of Central Georgia, P.O. Box 6533, Macon, Ga. 31208.
