Mrs. Avanell Morris Boutwell, 85, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, in Flomaton. She was a native of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and a resident of Flomaton since 1934. She attended the Allen Smith Holiness Church and was preceded in death by her husband, John S. “Big Boy” Boutwell.
She is survived by five sons, Sidney B. (Jeanice) Boutwell, Wendell M. (Judy) Wanda Boutwell and Andy R. (Sue) Boutwell, all of Flomaton; four daughters, Barbara B. Booker of Monroeville; Gloria Fay (Billy Joe) Knowles and Judy B. (Billy) Smith, all of Flomaton and Paula B. (Ray) Johnson of Jay, Fla.; four brothers, Harold Morris and Jack Morris, both of Flomaton, Charles Morris of Opp, and Lester Morris of New York; a sister, Alleen Dannelley of Thomasville; 21 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Sunday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home in Atmore with the Rev. Charles Morris and the Rev. Andy Boutwell officiating. Burial followed at Lambeth-Boutwell Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel directing. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael Boutwell, Vance Smith, Trent Boutwell, Tuffy Boutwell, Kevin Knowles and Tadd Johnson.
