Mr. Douglas Michael Reiss, 34, died suddenly Friday, May 9, 2003 in Gulf Breeze, Fla. He was a native of Effingham, Ill. and a resident of Brewton since 1972. He was a 1987 graduate of T.R. Miller High School, a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Reiss.
He is survived by his parents, Leon and Barbara Reiss of Brewton; one daughter, Gabrielle Reiss of Pensacola; two brothers, Greg Reiss and Terry Reiss, both of Brewton; three sisters, Debbi Bell and Marcia Allan, both of Brewton and Jennifer Jackson of Pensacola; 12 nieces and nephews and one great-niece.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 12, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Maurice Catholic Church with Father Adrian Cook officiating. Burial followed at Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
